In homes across America, thousands of abused and neglected children are thrust into the court system each day through no fault of their own. Lawyers represent the state and the parents or guardians, and judges will rule to the best of their ability. But the children are often left out of a process that will ultimately direct the future of their lives.

Working with the court system, CASA volunteers help facilitate and monitor a child's case to ensure that his or her interests are served. They help in gathering and giving information to the judge and child welfare worker. Advocates are a powerful voice in court for children. They provide the link between a life of turmoil and a promising future...

So Why CASA?

We thought the children would best answer this question, and this is what they had to say:

"They are always willing to listen to me no matter what."

"I like when she comes and spends time with us."

"The thing that I like most about my CASA is that she understands me and stands up for me."

"That she can really relate to what my life is like and understand me."
